Vintage 1974 Fender Jazz Bass Neck. Vintage original Fender Jazz Bass neck from 1974. It's in good shape for its age, but has the typical dings, scratches and wear expected for an almost 50 year old neck. The back of the neck feels very clean to the touch with no major blemishes.

The fretboard shows a lot of finish wear as shown in the pics, but it looks very cool. The profile is typical of the era - not too thick and not too thin. The width of the neck at the nut is the standard "A" Jazz Bass width at 1.5. The neck stamp is faded and unable to read, but this version of maple/pearl block Jazz Bass neck with a 4-bolt mounting pattern and truss rod adjust at the heel was only made in 1974 and early 1975. So it's correct for all Jazz Basses made during that timeframe.

The nut was replaced with a brass one at some point, but it's all original other than that. Comes with the original string tree retainer. I tested this neck out personally and it plays great.

I was able to get nice, low action all across the board and all the notes rang out loud and clear up and down the neck. It's straight and the truss rod works good.

The original frets show wear (as with virtually all necks of this age), but they still have lots of life left. Check out my other listings for more cool bass stuff!
